Eli Bravo is an active duty US Marine from the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas. His original songs are a combination of blues, folk, and rock & roll styles. The debut single “Carry me Home” is now available on all streaming platforms.

Born in San Benito, Texas, he grew up listening to the regional sounds of Tejano, Country, Blues Rock, and Mariachi music. Although he learned how to play the guitar in high school having performed in mariachi and his local church’s praise and worship bands, he enlisted in the USMC and left for a military life in 2001.

Throughout the years he has played for many of his friends from Iwakuni Japan, the Pacific Northwest, K-Bay, Cherry Point, and the in Low Country. Eli Bravo credits his ability to play guitar for keeping him grounded and optimistic when things got really dark.

It was while he was stationed in Austin, Tx from 2009-2012 that he was inspired to begin writing his own words and music. “I just saw so many great artists come through SXSW, Austin City Limits, and other venues. They would tell me the same thing” he says. “If I have a passion for what I am writing, and a drive for putting in the work, I can do the same.”

Now stationed in Okinawa Japan, Eli Bravo, armed with an arsenal of Japanese guitars, is bringing years of experience back to the very streets that shaped his growth as a young man. “I write songs about leaving for the travelers, workers, warriors, and scumbags that can’t always put their emotions into words.”
