Utterly brilliant !
This show is so good! It's kind of a traditional detective-comedy but set in space-punk-weirdness. It is truly wonderful and very, very funny!
This podcast has made me laugh out loud on more than one occasion. Too often steampunk is set in a serious tone. I'm glad to see this setting used with a comedic tone. This show is so clever and witty and outright hilarious. It holds up to a relisten everytime and I have relistened more than once. Thank goodness RadioPublic added their hearmarks feature so I can happily relisten to my favorite jokes again and again! The main characters are easy to root for and seeing their relationship develop over the past two seasons has been delightful. I adore this show. If you haven't listened yet, I highly recommend it.
This show never fails to make me laugh out loud. It's funny, clever, and incredibly fast-paced. There are no dull moments in Even Greater London, although there are robots, college-sized trains, and undead cybernetic royals. Cannot recommend enough!
Victoriocity is one of my all time favourites! Set in an alternative Victorian reality, this crime comedy ticks all the boxes: Mystery, surprise plot twists and lots of laughs!
This is a fine, fine show in every way. The stories are plotted with immense skill; the world-building is incredible; the soundscape immersive; and each character - large or small - makes a lasting impression. It deftly balances genuine drama with glorious silliness. It is endlessly funny, and a world I want to learn much more about.
The perfect example of world building through an audio landscape. Love the story and how it keeps the audience on its toes with all its twists and turns.
This is the audio drama that got me back into audio dramas. It is AMAZING. I'm in awe of how well it references Victorian literature and culture without getting bogged down by them. Also, cyborg QV is my absolute favorite thing.
I binged season 1 in one sitting and can’t wait to get stuck into season 2. This is such an imaginative world! A brilliant team of writers and performers. Pratchett and Adams would be proud.
I found this podcast of Twitter and I'm so glad I did! It's really interesting and different
Really well written, great acting fun story. Very enjoyable half hour. Full of twists turns and laughs
For a show to liken itself to Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett is almost the definition of hubris. But, despite all my cynicism, Victoriocity rises to the high standards it set for itself. Funny, quick, awesome voice acting and great soundscaping bring you in posthaste to a fantastic world. Even if steampunk isn't your thing, you can appreciate the setting of this drama. The plot is deep enough to make you curious and cliche'd enough to bring warm feelings of nostalgia. 5/5 ginger buns
I couldn't stop listening. I hadn't thought it possible for a steampunk dynamic to come across so vibrantly in audio, but it so did. The characters are relatable, their interactions are hilarious, and the world of Even Greater London is crafted with great love.
Victoriocity is a comedy detective audio drama following the story of an inspector and journalist team living in the city of "Even Greater London" in an alternate reality. The setting (in my mind) is a steampunk world in which technology has evolved differently. For example, Even Greater London is powered by a teslacoil-esque tower producing wireless energy, and telephone calls are made via a "locution glass" which uses magnets and liquid metal to make a crude "video telephone" type device. The story is incredibly well written, acted and produced. Extremely entertaining and the humour is reminiscant of "The Goon Show" and Monty Python. Highly recommended!
This is soooo good. I love the colourful world that Chris and Jen Sugden have built. It’s full of Pratchett-esque technological magic which lives just along the edge of what I can imagine. The protagonists are full blooded, three-dimensional, developed characters who I just love to listen to. The narrative’s twists and turns are compelling and complex, enough for to maintain the mystery but not so much I get lost. Just an ace show permanently on my to-recommend list.
Fun show. Hope they do more at some point.
Very british comedy thriller. Fast paced with a quick and witty dialogue and an intriguing storyline.
hysterical and british
Simply incredible. anAudio Drama that knows how to do fast-paced comedy that keeps you wanting more, and more. My favorite character has to be El Fantasma.
A densely comic, thriller that succeeds in being both very funny and yet compelling. There is more than a hint of the classic Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy, yet the alternative London setting is immersive and original. Much recommended.
