There is nothing I can talk about newswise as it is all about booster jabs and climate
change protesters blocking motorways and reshuffling Parliament etc and when I
look up I can actually see it all drifting over my head....which just makes me reach for
the remote and change channels before I gradually sink into a pool of boredom.

On a lighter noteI watched "The Greatest Showman" for the second time and
thoroughly enjoyed it....it really is a great film and the songs are brilliant...it is the story
of Barnum and his circus....it stars Hugh Jackman and I would recommend it to
everyone....nice to watch a decent film for a change without everyone getting shot or
beaten up.

On the music scene I watched a documentary on the Everly Brothers which was very
interesting....

I also watched Jeff Lynne's E.L.O. at Wembley.....anyone who missed this missed
out....concerts do not get any better....apart from great songs the backing band and
the singers were sensational....and Sting has brought out a new single which
reaches his usual high standards....he is a great lyricist as is shown in his "Every
Breath You Take"...

I have always liked good female singers with pin point accuracy....for example Celine
Dion with her gentle delivery...Gladys Knight with her perfect phrasing....Aretha
Franklin with her sharp jagged delivery ....Dionne Warwick with her faultless voice
(Heartbreaker being one of my favourite songs)....and of course Tina Turner with her
fabulous range.....a lot can be learned by up and coming girl singers from the likes of
these legends....and at the opposite end of the scale I would like to introduce one of
the worst records ever made...only .in my opinion of course....Tell Laura I Love Her by
Ricky Valance....which reached number one back in the day....but to me it is one of
the worst records ever.
