Brenda Lee was born in 1944 as Brenda Mae Tarpley and she became a worldwide American singer. performing Rockabilly, Pop and Country. She had 47 US chart hits during the 1960s and is ranked fourth in that decade, surpassed only by Elvis, The Beatles and Ray Charles. I'm pretty sure you will have heard her 1958's Christmas classic 'Rockin around the Christmas Tree.
S was given the nickname "Little Miss Dynamite" in 1957 after recording the song "Dynamite" when she was 12, and was one of the earliest pop stars to have a major contemporary international following. You can obviously guess how chuffed I was to chat with Brenda about her fabulous career in music.I called her from my radio show based in sunny Spain and particularly wanted to know about her great song Sweet Nothins. It still remains one of my favourite podcasts.
