Welcome to our book club where we will be discussing Elizabeth Lesser's book Broken Open: How Difficult Times Can Help Us Grow. Together we explore The Call of the Soul and connect with Elizabeths heart stories as well as stories people were open enough to share. One thing we picked up on from the first part of this book is in every experience we can ask ourselves "What does my soul need to learn from this?" and getting quiet enough to listen for the answers. There is so much here when it comes to The Pheonix Process and how if we can be exposed to the pain of life enough that no matter what we can rise from the ashes. Elizabeth is raw and real and shares her infidelities and how her pain helped her grow.As mothers we appreciated the section of the book on children and Elizabeths trials and tribulations with her own children as well as stories from friends and other that impacted her life. There is so much fear when it comes to death and even with birth. Here in this book we learn how to confront our own death, and Elizabeth even walks us through a meditation for dying. This meditation is here to create acceptance and love to help us live a more fulfilled life opposed to living in fear of our last days. Finally, we swim with The River of Change allowing life's lessons and signs to be here as guides in our daily lives. We are grateful for Elizabeth and her open vulnerable heart and how she has been a beacon of light in the darkest moments of life.Join us at www.voicesrisingpress.comAll music included is written and composed by Sarah Caton.
