Last week I was at the European Communications Summit, the yearly gathering of about 700 senior communicators from across Europe.
The conference is organised by the European Association of Communication Directors, an organisation I am a proud member of and where I lead the Social Media Work Group.
So for this weeks podcast I met up with one of the EACD’s board members and taped this interview right after Inge Wallage’s peer to peer session on “Purpose Driven Communications”.
In this session Inge is asking a couple of interesting, and let’s face it, though questions:
Do we conduct our function apart from the bigger questions facing us today or do we contribute to find solutions? What is our responsibility and accountability? What is our purpose?”
Those are exactly the kind of questions we discuss in this week’s podcast… Follow us in the next 35 minutes or so and try to see if you can answer the questions for yourself – both as a Professional Communicator and a human being.
Inge is the Communications & Engagement Director at IWA the International Water Association (UK registered charity, operational HQ in The Hague): www.iwa-network.org.
Her over 20-year professional experience includes international organisational communications, strategic media relations, crisis/issues management, PR events, speakers management, internal communications and brand management.
She has worked for Greenpeace International, Motorola, Philips Electronics, P&O Nedlloyd, Statoil and led the Dutch branch of Burson-Marsteller.
