For the very first show of Wag The Dog I wanted something special…

Coincidence (is there such a thing) made it so that I was able to meet up with Robert Phillips at an EACD conference in Copenhagen. I asked if I could interview him for Wag The Dog and he kindly accepted.

In this first show we’ll be covering the end of PR as we know it, the need for transparency in our profession and we’ll hint at some possible future developments in the communications industry.

Robert Phillips is Head of Chambers at Jericho Chambers; a Visiting Professor at Cass Business School, London; and co-author of Citizen Renaissance (2008). A former (EMEA) President & CEO of Edelman, he has been advising global corporations and writing, publishing and speaking on the future of communications for over 25 years.

In 2013, Robert co-founded Jericho Chambers and launched the Progressive Communications Network to promote the transformative agenda and to help business make real the ideas of radical honesty and radical transparency.

Robert stands resolutely against the tired deceits of spin and the mythology of the silver bullet of trust. Trust Me, PR is Dead offers his answers to the communications challenges posed by the complex, real worlds of today.

His crowdfunded book is available in electronic format as from January and the printed version a bit later in the year.

As I mentioned this was my first recording… There will be some background noise and beginner’s mistakes but overall I was very happy with the final result, considering this was taped with a small microphone and and iPhone. Hope you’ll like it as well.

If you have feedback, questions, remarks or anything else, please let me know via the audio mailbox of Wag The Dog FM.
