RATING
Derek and Aaron have a great dynamic and awesome chemistry, and I legitimately trust their knowledge and appreciation of films and filmmaking.
Great podcast for horror fans and newbies alike! I'm kind of a horror mid-y? I've only recently gotten really into horror films as a genre. This show is right at my level, getting deep into shows and providing awesome context, but not so far in the weeds that a beginner couldn't understand what's going on. The dynamic between the hosts is easy and fun to listen to, like hanging out with good friends. And it's just got a solidly good vibe, without ruining the horror subject matter. Even when these hosts disagree, it's good-natured. So not only do you get great information with this show, but it's just all-around pleasant to listen to (dare I say, even comforting in a time of lonesome social distancing?). Strongly recommended for horror fans, curious proto-fans, and anybody who loves hanging around listening to their friends geek out about things they love.
Really enjoyed this fun podcast with amazingly funny guests. I started with their most recent episode cause it’s hocus pocus and who doesn’t love this film. The conversation felt like sitting down with old friends talking about a favourite shared secret. Great recap great fun. I have to go back now and listen to some actual horror now!! Can’t wait. Thanks from fellow podcaster, film rage
If you want some in depth horror film analysis, this is the podcast for you! They dissect movies from so many different vantage points: the craft, the horror-landscape of the time the film was released, the scares, the directing, the acting, etc. They really take a look at these movies from every angle. Listen, if you dare. ;)
Just listened to the episode on Night Of The Comet after a random late night watch, and had a fun time listening to the hosts talk about the ins and outs of the movie, the history of it and their general thoughts. It's a solid mix of a classic movie podcast with a kind of hang out podcast vibe, all centered specifically around films that fall under the wide ranging genre of "horror" and is a really well put together show and a great listen. Looking forward to checking out some more episodes.
Watch if you dare - podcast Long forum discussion about different aspects of horror movies. Derek comes at the movies from a sort of coward perspective. Arron has this almost fanboy admiration. Together they have great chemistry. This is a fantastic podcast for people who want to dive deep into the horror genre.
I'm a fairly new listener to the podcast but already loving the rapport and insight into all things horror between Aaron and Derek!Makes for great listening while I am currently working from home, so I would thoroughly recommend this to film fans and any with even the most passive interest in horror - love it!
If you're new to horror movies and don't know where to start, or you're an expert and want to connect with people who share your passion for them, this podcast is for you! It's much more than just a basic movie review, very much recommended!
Watch If You Dare is all about movies - the love of movies, especially horror movies. The hosts clearly have a love of cinema and it comes through in their episodes. They enjoy movies for what they are and what they're meant to be - entertaining pieces of our lives. Enjoy this podcast for the joy they bring each episode and get little pieces of trivia too. Highly recommend! Subscribe today.
I am a fan of films in general, not just horror, and this podcast delivers on everything that I would want out of a movie podcast. Aaron and Derek have great chemistry as hosts and they each do heavy research for the films they cover, which is one of the best parts of the pod. I appreciate their honest opinions and even admit when a film seriously spooked them. They have lots of reverence for the genre and it shows in a tasteful way. A huge plus is that the show is a super easy listen. Pick your favorite horror that they have covered and enjoy their discussion!
O podcast by a couple of horror fans that love these flicks for different reasons. They do a great job reviewing and discussing the films they choose. But be warned, there be spoilers. It is probably best to have seen the movie first. If you haven't you won't be lost though. I also like the general discussion bit. They recommend all manner of stuff that I wouldn't have been exposed to otherwise. Keep up the good work guys!
This show takes a comprehensive approach to covering horror. I love how they talk about daily horror and a specific title. If you enjoy horror already, you’ll appreciate just how thoroughly it’s covered in this show. If you’re new to horror you’ll learn a lot. They break down movies in a really detailed way, drawing parallels when needed and do a good job noticing the types of horror in whatever they talk about.
I'm a spooky beginner! And I appreciated Aaron and Derek taking that into consideration when discussing the beginner friendliness of a film, while not forgetting the more elevated points for those with more stomach/experience. I laughed. I cried (I was cutting onions). And I learned a lot. Solid sound production. Great chemistry. I highly recommend this podcast to anyone interested in film or horror or monsters or just dark creepy shit.
An excellent podcast that has something for everyone! If you're new to the horror genre it gives you a new appreciation for the genre. If you're I diehard horror fan it gives you an in-depth breakdown of some of the best horror films ever made!On top of all of that Aaron and Derek have an amazing back-and-forth! I would definitely recommend this to anyone interested in horror cinema or someone looking to get into the genre!
Horror's not my thing, but this is a fun show to listen to, even for folks like me!
I just recently listened to the Black Christmas episode and instantly became a fan. The hosts know their material very well and have a genuine passion for horror. If you’re a horror aficionado, this is the podcast for you!
As a sympathetic coward, I decided to start with the Hocus Pocus episode of WIYD, and I felt immediately like I was sitting in a room with people I knew. While horror is generally not in my wheelhouse, WIYD approaches it in a way that makes it fun even for people who don't like scary movies! Subscribed and waiting for more!
These guys are funny, they definitely do their research, and they know what they’re talking about. They have a passion for horror and it shows. It feels like a conversation and I so badly want to join! If you’re looking for some great horror content, hit that ‘Subscribe’ button already.
Watch If You Dare is a fantastic show that I’d highly recommend to any horror fan! As a horror aficionado, there’s a lot for me to enjoy here, but the content is also accessible for a horror newbie! The hosts are knowledgable and their love of horror shines through as they dive deep into each film they cover. I also appreciate their brief discussions of what they’re currently watching/reading, as they offer some really neat suggestions to check out outside of the film they’re covering for the episode. Check them out, you won’t regret it!
I love horror movies, but haven’t found a ton of horror movie podcasts I enjoy enough to subscribe. Well, this one made me a subscriber. The hosts are great and really know their stuff. I started with their episode on The Ritual and now I’m dying (no pun intended) to rewatch the movie. Kudos!
