Emotional Intelligence - The Key To Success In Life
In this episode of What's Your Next Move, we talk with Harvey Deutschendorf, author of "The Other Kind Of Smart" about emotional intelligence, how we find it and what it can do for us. The most successful relationships are those where we engage in emotional intelligence in how we pay attention to the other person, listening closely to what they're saying without words and refraining from reacting in moments when we're triggered. To exercise emotional intelligence is to move from a place of reaction to one where we are being deliberate and proactive about how we interact with one another with the goal being to produce the best possible relationship.Harvey Deutschendorf is an Emotional Intelligence expert, internationally published author and speaker who has worked in the field of E. I. for more than 20 years.  He is an active member of the ManKind Project and Toastmasters.  Harvey is a regular contributor to FAST COMPANY and writes a monthly column for HRPROFESSIONALS MAGAZINE. You can follow him on Twitter @Theeiguy.  He lives in Alberta, Canada with his partner in life, Sandra.
The Fastest Path To Focusing
Welcome to What’s Your Next Move, the podcast for peak performers who are making things happen but are running into roadblocks that prevent them from getting what they want. In a huge departure from our regular guests on What's Your Next Move, in this episode (#37), The Fastest Path To Focusing, we talk with Hayley Bell who has so far put together 12,000 female motorcycle riders who've never met before into a Facebook group in five weeks with more than 90 countries represented! Hayley has created a worldwide rally that will take place in 2019 where women around the world will be carrying a symbol, much like the passing of the torch at the Olympics, from country to country, rider to rider, culture to culture, language to language, all united in the spirit of riding and also in what it means to be a woman who rides! It's an extraordinary and exciting account of how an idea comes out of nowhere sitting in an office one day wishing she was out riding to now having an international event that is bringing women around the world together all out of their love of being in the wind and being part of a community that speaks only one language, that of their love of riding! As a rider myself, it was a thrilling conversation to go behind the scenes of such a monumental effort and to know that I will be one of those women riding in that rally come 2019! A fantastic episode for all to listen to! Have a listen at http://arlenebattishill.com/podcast-episodes
