Welcome to the 16th episode of Wild Society!

This week’s murder case covers Ed Gein - a quiet farmer from Wisconisin who had an unhealthy obsession with his dead mother. After local hardware store owner, Bernice Worden went missing in 1957, an investigation led local authorities to Gein’s farmhouse. What they found was such a shock to America that his heinous acts would inspire true crime culture for decades to come.

In this week’s wild story we talk about Pauline Dakin’s bizarre childhood on the run. Why did her mom make them move suddenly and unexpectedly? Why did everything they do have to be kept a secret? It wasn’t until she was 23 that her mom finally explained that they were on the run from the Mafia and people had been out to kill them for the last 16 years. But there was more to the story…
