Sanjay Chandrasekhar's lineage is amazing. His father Mr. Chandrasekhar is one of India’s finest guitarists who is known for his guitar pieces in the song Ilayanila Pozhigirathu tuned by the maestro Ilayaraja.  The concluding piece of the song was entirely Mr. Chandrasekhar’s extempore.  What you are hearing, is the piece played by my son Niranjan.
His paternal uncle Mr. Purusothaman, was Ilayaraja’s conductor and the glue that kept a huge number of instrumentalists in sync during recordings and at live shows.  He was probably one of India’s first electronic rhythm composers.  We unfortunately lost him recently when he succumbed to an illness.
All this intro is not to take away the spotlight from Sanjay.  Sanjay is a drummer, an arranger and a composer in his own right.  As a composer, he has teamed up with his wife and they are known as Sanjay-Rajee. His wife Rajalakshmee is classically trained in Hindustani music and together they have worked on many compositions.
