RATING
This show is THE pinnacle of podcast delivered audio drama. I laughed, I cried, and my heart absolutely ached when the show was over. The production value is great, the voice acting is superb, and the story is both light at times and devastatingly gripping at others. If there is one show I could ask everyone I've ever shared space with to listen to it would be Wolf 359. Do yourself a favor and give this show a shot. A charming dozen episodes will capture your heart before an overarching narrative will reveal itself and leave you forever glad you listened!
I remember a few years ago I was looking for a podcast to listen while doing my work. I was just discovering about audio dramas, I wasn't sure exactly what I was getting into. I listened to a few episodes, they were funny but after a few ones they soon evolved to something more and I am not sure when but it didn't take long for me to get hooked on this podcast. I kinda binged listened to this podcast and caught up to when they were still coming out. I could barely wait for the next episode. To this day I still listen to a few episodes when I am missing this a lot. This became my favourite podcast and I recommend it to anyone who asks me about podcasts. I never found another one like this. I tried but this one set the bar too high. There is no words to how I got emotionally connected to these characters and made me forget about everything else and just focusing on the story for each episode. I don't think there are words to express and I might seem overexagerated but this is a truly magnificient podcast and I am just glad I found it and listened to it.
I'm new to listening to podcasts on my daily commute. But I'm not sure anything will beat this great show. I looked forward to listening to it everyday and will miss it. Great work guys! ??
One of the first shows I listened to and definitely an absolute favorite. I could relisten a million times and fall in love all over again and again.
The first time I couldn't go past the first like 5 episodes, then after a few months I tried it again 'cause of the rating. Best choiche of my life, after the first 8 or so episodes the show changes tone and what to say, is one of the best podcast I ever listened to.
Great podcast!! An intresting story with phenomenal voice acting! I enjoyed it a lot!
a wonderful roller coaster of a show
It starts off enjoyable, a blast, voices that just sink into your unconscious, soothes the mind and pulls you in. Then the point comes where your mind just screams to binge it all!
Great space story, lots of laughs and emotions
A sci-fi adventure in deep space. Begins as a comedy, but quickly evolves into a heart-wrenching drama. Sublime.
I did not expect to fall in love with this podcast. It's not my usual genre, but I cannot recommend it enough. It's a great listen for anyone who enjoys audio drama
One of the very best if not the best podcast/audiodrama of all time. A must listen.
my favourite kind of stories are the ones that start as a lighthearted comedy and then you end up sobbing through the end of it, holding characters' dead bodies or mental health in your arms. even though sometimes the humour was too jarring and plain for my taste, i still immensily enjoyed the crafted writing, profoundly written characters and their layered backstories, and the bittersweet ness of it all. it is a universe i will be coming back to in my memories
One of the best epic sci-fi podcasts. Was great the second time too!
Wolf 359 is a truly stellar scifi podcast. I can't praise this one enough, even tho I'm late to the party since it finished in 2017. Story, character writing, themes, acting and sound design all level up each season culminating in a truly amazing final episode. This is one for people who like typical scifi themes like the ethics of scientific experimentation for the betterment of humankind, personhood of AI, fear of the unknown and language (being vague as to not spoil the plot). But it's also one for people who like a good character drama, as Eiffel, Minkowski and Hera in particular get a really satisfying development arc. Prefer something more action-packed? The later seasons have got you covered. And while the humor takes a bit of a backseat in those seasons due to the raising stakes, it's solid all the way through and helps keep things light when you need a break from the tension.
Bloody brilliant!! Loved the light hearted comedy style introduction before the depth and darkness of the story really takes hold. Excellent characters. Top notch all round
It took me 3 tries over the course of a year to get past the 3rd or 4th episode - there's quite a bit of silliness, and I usually prefer stories that pull at my heartstrings. But Hera's voice and the ubiquitous recommendations/rave reviews for this show across the internet finally got me to stick it out, and **very minor SPOILER**once you get past the plant monster plot line, you realize that this is one of the most heartfelt, character- and relationship-driven podcasts out there.Episode 41 (Memoria) gets all the accolades - and they are well deserved! But there are at least 5 episodes that got to me in that way - episodes which were as moving and impactful as a really good therapy session. This is done brilliantly, with humor and metaphor, but quite subtly - you need to be open to it, or you might miss it.I miss Doug and Hera so very much. Commander Minkowski too. And, quite surprisingly, Dmitri (Hilbert) as well.I am so grateful to the entire Wolf 359 team for the gift of this podcast, this story, these characters. Thank you 🧡
I honest found the characters, the voices and the whole thing insufferable. But! I think that's just down to taste, the audio production is really excellent.
Doug Eiffel is one of my all time favourite characters in fiction. Truly an excellent podcast in terms of writing and production
This podcast is a must-listen for any who loves Sci-Fi - or anyone who loves a good story driven by character development. Wolf 359 takes everything that is Sci-Fi (Aliens, mystery, anti-capitalist themes) and does it all brilliantly. Every character is compelling and all their arcs felt completed. It balanced tragedy and comedy so well and never had a boring moment. I can confidently recommend this podcast to anyone, knowing the story will keep them intrigued and the characters will connect with them.
