My name is Brittany Rendak. My life is pretty far from normal. Some might say I should have my own television crew following me around all day. Others might say I need to remember to breathe in between words when I talk. Long story short: I love telling elaborate stories.

From my earliest years, I have had a love for entertainment. If I had a “happy place” it was to be in front of people. My free time was filled with cheerleading, chorus and school plays, where I found a creative outlet for my passion. Aside from performing, I also loved storytelling, and would often grab the family video camera and “interview” family and friends. When I wasn’t on stage, I could often be found engrossed in a book, or letting my inner writer loose with pen and paper. When high school was over, the choice was crystal clear that I would major in Broadcast Journalism, and I received my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri.

I currently work in Talent Publicity at an award winning public relations firm, supporting two busy publicists where I handle interviews, pitch client appearances and interviews and red carpet and award show coordination. I cultivated positive relationships with the press, other agencies and publicists, and have had several high-profile clients as my personal responsibility.

I started my blog to share my own story and most importantly influence, inspire, and motivate others like me to follow their dreams. I finally made the big move to Los Angeles, my dream city, all the way from the windy city, Chicago. Not only have I loved absolutely everything about LA since I was born, I also realized it is the place I need to be in order to grow my career in the entertainment industry.

Last year, I combined my entertainment industry knowledge and on-air experience to develop my own podcast called Breaking Down with Brittany Rendak. Each episode features a new guest who shares how they got started in the entertainment industry, challenges they have overcome and steps they’ve taken to get where they are today.

During my time at the University of Missouri, I worked as a multimedia journalist at the local news station in Columbia, Missouri, KOMU-8 News. After receiving the smallest of tips, I knew how to dig deep to uncover the real story. When it seemed almost impossible to find sources, I turned to my significant knowledge of social media. I had a strong desire to discover unique people and share their story with the world. I was what is commonly referred to as a “one-man-band” reporter, writing scripts, conducting interviews, shooting and editing videos, fronting the story and working on deadline… by myself.
