Christopher Titus beams in for this spaced-out edition of the show. In a wide-ranging interview, Titus talks about his first job playing Darth Vader at Chuck-E-Cheese (a gig, it turns out, that didn’t end well). Guess he forgot the use The Force... or he used too much of it! Titus dishes about the evolution of his stand-up, and how he transitioned from going for cheap laughs to more genuine, personal and shocking material. He also provides the inside scoop on the rise and fall of his eponymous TV show. Oh, and Zane talks about eating scorpions (the bugs, not the band). Dan says nothing throughout the entire interview. He was nursing one of his “it wasn’t my fault” hangovers, so we had comedian Nehl Bobal step in to assist.
Since “science fiction” is today’s theme, the gang has fun with voice effects. Wouldn’t you if you had them? Dan fills us in on the man who coined the term “sci-fi,” and Mel explains the difference between Science Fiction and Science Fantasy. Josh geeks out about a book called “Ender’s Game.” All this talk about reading drives Zane to crack open some Hangar 24 Belgian Summer Ale, and Dan goes straight for the Maker’s Mark.
There’s a quiz, too. Two of them, actually. We are extremely competitive on Mondays.
