I enjoyed the first season of Deadly Diocese and was looking forward to the second season. Sadly I have decided to unfollow the show and to finally review the show. I am a practicing catholic and a true crime nut. I am well aware the Catholic Church is responsible for some horrible crimes. I also agree that the Church’s handling of those crimes was despicable. Some dioceses handled it better than others. Clearly Buffalo was and may still be the worst of the worst. During the first season the hosts sounded like professional journalists and not conspiracy theorists. I was sucked into every episode. The second season is a train wreck! They sound more like rabid conspiracy nuts. The supposed new information is over hyped and not substantive. Greg Hunter is the worst. Yes they are entitled to be outraged at how the church handled Father Joe and his death. I am outraged too but the hosts come across as having a personal vendetta against the church. This is neither professional or interesting to listen to… and I listen to a ton of podcasts. It’s a shame they have turned this one into too much of their personal opinion (which many people couldn’t care less about) and less of a professional investigation. I will wait & read any major news about this case instead of listening to them whine about all things Catholic. There are a lot of good people in the Catholic church but Rachel & Greg have already decided there are not.
