Yes. Oddities & cult films don't get enough love. It's a topic that could be handled poorly, but not on this show. I dig the way you're drawn into the topic through well spoken, well thought out dialog.
Wow! This guy is great at research! True Romance is my favorite movie of all time, but I still had a lot to learn about it. I really appreciate that this podcast is more than a scene-by-scene movie review. I feel like I've just taken a college lecture in Tarantino. Well done!
I was absolutely sucked in to this show from the very start. The films are old and unknown to me, so I appreciate all the background info and the summary. The breakdown of the creation, release, and reception of each film is thorough and captivating. Love it! Film buffs will certainly enjoy, but this show is for everyone.
I Saw It On Linden StreetThank you so much for the generous review. We do strive to dig into films that are mainly (but not always) off the beaten path, but still may have some fun/life in them - and we are thrilled you were…
There’s nothing like the nostalgia you feel after listening to an episode of this podcast. The team brings you back to review cult films, highlighting everything in them. It’s different, entertaining and a thrilling ride down memory lane for some. Couldn’t recommend this podcast more!
There's a lot of film review podcasts out there, but there aren't many that get into the background of a film like Linden Street. Chris touches on so many classic films, getting into detail about the films creation, production, and reception upon release, how the film has been remembered in the years since, just a variety of aspects that other pods miss. If you're a big movie buff, this podcast will be up your alley.
I Saw It On Linden StreetThank you sir. We try to strike a balance between keeping it fun and getting into the weeds on the film's background...also, oversharing personal stories on what the film means to us. We appreciate t…
Taking you on a trip through movies slightly off the beaten track whilst giving you fantastic insight into the film itself. A lovely twist on the usual podcast formula and that’s a good thing. I recommend this pod!
Looking for a break from the usual movie podcast? Chris delivers on movies you might never have heard or ones forgotten about & breaks them down with great insight. If you call yourself a film fan, you need to check out this content! - #ODPH
Been listening to the podcast since it first started. Each episode provides insight into movies that I would never have thought to watch on my own were I not to hear about it here. While I don't end up watching all, I've found several lesser known and cult classics that I have enjoyed. Highly recommend this podcast.
I Saw It On Linden StreetThank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. One of our goals is always just to expose people to lesser known films and let the determine for themselves if they are interested in seeing t…
Chris gives a deep dive into films I wouldn’t normally view. After listening to a few episodes I’ve been introduced to some cool flicks I would have never gone for. You can tell he has a passion for talking movies and does a great job at giving some cool insight you can’t find on any other podcast.
I Saw It On Linden StreetThank you. The goal is always to try to give films a 2nd glance and dig into aspects that may have been overlooked. We will keep aiming to please.
High quality stuff!
I Saw It On Linden StreetThank you for the positive vibes Robert. We will strive to continue to deliver the best level of quality and worthwhile film history that we can get our hands on. We appreciate it.
Chris Roberts is the FUCKING BOMB!!! On the latest episode of I Saw it On Linden Street, he covers an extraordinary film by the name of "The Beast". He does a marvelous job covering all the important aspects surrounding the film. Long may he keep up the good work. And if I ever hear anyone with a bad word to say about Chris and his podcast, I shall get into the drivers seat of my very own T55 TANK and get MEDIEVAL ON YOUR ASS!!! 😁
Here's what I love about this podcast: Chris Roberts. Passionate, clear, researched, he's everything I want in a movie podcast. He makes this show great. For me, movie podcasts are hard because they're often far too long for me, and spend a lot of time giving me rundown on cast/crew information, which often makes me glaze over. This podcast does a good job keeping me engaged through the host's fantastic delivery, but it lost a star because I felt that the show could be 20 minutes long and deliver me the exact same experience.
I Saw It On Linden StreetThank you so much for the kind words Ned. We do try to keep the show having a consistant quality. You do hit on a point that is a real struggle- balancing getting a deep enough dive and striving to k…
I thoroughly enjoyed this podcast. Especially the episode on baby blood. I have a tendency to sleep on cult films but after listening to i saw it on Linden street. I see I may have missed out on entertaining films great job well researched. I really want to watch this film. You guys should want to listen to this podcast
Two things I love very much - deep cut references and movies. This podcast offers you both cinema classics and those which have garnered a cult following over the years. One other thing I love? Extensive research! Chris has thoroughly researched each of the films and comes to each episode well armed with info! Give this podcast a listen.
This podcast is the absolute bottom of the barrel. It’s basically just a glorified Wikipedia recitation with a clunky one-take Charlie style as it is chockablock full of stammered, flubbed, and mispronounced words and names. Each episode is guaranteed to contain some element that will infuriate any listener who might even moderately be paying attention. The long and short of it is that it all just seems so very slapdash. Who asked for some smug and joyless person to Wikipedia some film’s background information, and then showcase an always awful slog of a synopsis of that movie? Not me, that’s for certain. This ground is so much better covered by the likes of The Projection Booth and others. How about trying to do something that isn’t a synopsis? Try harder. Try at all. Get guests that aren’t just chortling goons. Seek out people involved in the production of these films. Do interviews. Spend some actual time producing a show that doesn’t just barely clear the bar. I would hope that no one is forcing you to have a new show every week. 1 good show is better than 50 duds. Also, the name of your show confuses people initially (myself included). You don’t run some boutique theater. People assuming that this podcast is some tie-in to a real cinema that - I’m sorry to say- shows some REAL clunkers, will be mistaken. I don’t say any of this to be mean. I like movies, and I like spending my extra time listening to podcasts about them. This show just makes me angry because it’s so lazy.
I Saw It On Linden StreetWhile I do take some umbrage to the "smug and joyless" assertion- I will freely admit there is tons of room for improvement when it comes to this show. I appreciate you taking the time to listen and …
