Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is an American environmental attorney, author, and political figure known for his advocacy on environmental and public health issues. A son of Senator Robert F. Kennedy and nephew of President John F. Kennedy, he gained prominence as a leading environmental activist through his work with the Natural Resources Defense Council and as co-founder of the Waterkeeper Alliance. Kennedy has written several books and led legal efforts targeting corporate polluters. In 2024, he ran as an independent candidate in the U.S. presidential election, and was selected by President Trump as the United States Secretary of Health and Human Services.
