This is list that includes some of the best podcasts that I have listened to. Some new, some old some well known.
Trailer: “When you tear out a man's tongue, you are not proving him a liar, you're only telling the world that you fear what he might say.” George R.R. Martin “Adam was but human—this explains it all. He did not want the apple for the apple's sake, he wanted it only because it was forbidden. The mistake was in not forbidding the serpent; then he would have eaten the serpent.” Mark Twain Some of history is great and inspiring! Most of history is hardly remembered. When we think about it The study of History is successful because it’s the study of suffering death and melancholy. History is a dark place, it’s gritty, it’s nasty and when it comes to it human history is filled with idiots, and it's filled with a few smart people who really pushed the world on the right path. Those are the people we want to remember. This is history uncensored I want to change the way you look at history! History is more than just looking up its dates. It’s remembering the labor, toil, sweat, blood, and tears that went into developing the world we live in today. It’s about uncovering and understanding the hardships, the plagues, the cultures, the religion and the science that changed humanity again and again and again. How each new discovery paved the way for expansion; expansion of the human mind, the human experience, and our environment. We travel through time to the very origins of each topic that will be covered. Including the origin of man and our ancestral roots in Africa. We will cover Race, Religion, Slavery, Evolution, Plague, Medicine, Great Women, Horrible Men and Women and the movers and shakers of our awe-inspiring history. I will attempt to be as thorough as possible with each episode citing additional scholarly articles that were used in the creation of the episode and its content. It will be educational, dark, nasty, gory, and completely off the chain at times. All for the better, because history, although it follows a linear timeline (obviously), does not follow a linear path! The decisions you make, our ancestors made and everyone on earth makes the effect more than you can possibly imagine (butterfly effect) For example, could the domestication of dogs lead to slavery? Did the adaption of specific religions hold back scientific discovery? What knowledge resulted from the burning of the library of Alexandria? How about what the heck you ate for breakfast this morning? The idea is simple, find the beginning and run through its history until we arrive at the present. Discuss the present and then contemplate what might happen in the future, where are we going, what are we doing and what will the outcome be. On each journey, we will stop and hear from the great and small people who lived through in the time period we are discussing. Fascinating, I know. I probably have you glued to the digital screen in front of you right now with my riveting words… or not. Either way, I hope you enjoy the Podcast and the materials I intend on covering. A few things of note, Suggestions are always welcome for both topics and content. I run this by myself, that means I am the editor, producer and man behind the mic all at once. On top of that I do all of my own research, usually hundreds of pages of scholarly articles and books per topic and podcast. Add to the list that I run a bookstore (45 hrs per week) have 2 young children and attend school my time is limited. I do intend on releasing new episodes every other week. What I am trying to say I guess is that any help would be incredibly beneficial, and I probably won’t turn it down at all. Reach out to me on twitter@seth4nerds, or by email Only two things are infinite, Human Stupidity and the Universe. I am not so sure about the universe.
