Against the Rules with Michael Lewis

A Society, Culture and Business podcast featuring

Journalist and bestselling author Michael Lewis (Liar's Poker, Moneyball) takes a searing look at what’s happened to fairness. It feels like there's less of it every day—whether it comes to lending practices, college admissions, professional sports, or psychological well-being. Who are the people trying to level the playing field, and are they making an impact? Lewis interviews referees (Season 1) and coaches (Season 2) from many walks of life, bringing his trademark insight and wry humor to their stories of (in)equality today.

Definitely worth a listen for anyone who's interested in hearing about the world of "fairness". With a topic like that, you obviously get some interesting perspectives and stories.
We already knew Michael Lewis was a good writer. Now he's found a different way to tell stories; through a podcast. And he pulls it off surprisingly well: Against the Rules is an excellent podcast. It's well researched, narrated in a captivating way, and each episode tells a story that keeps one thinking long after listening. Whereas the first series focussed on the declining trust in empires, the second series recounts the emergence of coaches from different angles. Both are totally worth listening.
It's not at all surprising that an award-winning author would make an outstanding podcast. What is delightful is how relevant these sports ideas are for everyone. Recommended.
