In the previous episode, we spoke about the deep and strange relationship between the arid sandy deserts of Sahara and the dense green rainforests of Amazon, the Yin-Yang of it and why we discuss this in Madhushala. One more story was from Bachchan’s childhood, of his birthday and Chamarin Amma (shout out episode 12). Today, we will talk about Bachchan’s friend “Karkal”, nostalgia, and emerald island in Madhushala.

पिछले अंक में हमने बात की थी कि Amazon rain forest यानी Amazon के घने बरसाती जंगलों और सहारा के सूखे रेतीले रेगिस्तान का आपस में क्या रिश्ता है, इसमें Yin-Yang का क्या संदर्भ है और मधुशाला में ये बातें कहाँ से आ गई! और एक कहानी सुनाई थी बच्चन जी के बचपन की, जिसमें चमारिन अम्मा से जुड़ा एक किस्सा भी था। आज बात करते हैं कुछ nostalgia, augmented reality, बच्चन जी के मित्र “कर्कल” की, और मरकत द्वीप की। 

अधरों पर हो कोई भी रस जिह्वा पर लगती हाला,  भाजन हो कोई हाथों में लगता रक्खा है प्याला,

हर सूरत साकी की सूरत में परिवर्तित हो जाती, आँखों के आगे हो कुछ भी, आँखों में है मधुशाला (32) 

and - 

किसी ओर मैं आँखें फेरूँ, दिखलाई देती हाला, किसी ओर मैं आँखें फेरूँ, दिखलाई देता प्याला,

किसी ओर मैं देखूं, मुझको दिखलाई देता साकी, किसी ओर देखूं, दिखलाई पड़ती मुझको मधुशाला (39)
