Why should we care about the environment? Here are 3 statistics that I keep top of mind for conversations about animals and the earth. Please comment below, and link to the source, to let us know of any other statistics that you keep top of mind. Thank you!

3 STATISTICS TO KEEP TOP OF MIND:

  1. 10-year US government study revealed that more than 90 percent of the nation’s tested waters and fish are contaminated with pesticides.
  2. Farm Sanctuary found that 9 billion chickens are slaughtered for meat in the US each year, 104 million pigs, and 330 million hens are confined to lay 95 billion eggs.
  3. Our World in Data states that there are greater than 35,000 species that qualified to be going extinct today.  That is 1/4 of the world’s mammals, 1/6 of the birds, and 40% of the amphibians.

4 SIMPLE IDEAS TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE:

  1. Switch to non-toxic cleaning products.  My cleaning closet.
  2. Choose one day per week, & eat only vegan meals that day.
  3. Plant trees on our property, or donate to non-profits who plant trees.
  4. Cut down on our personal paper usage with zero waste alternatives.
