Col(R) Kurt Schlichter has a big personality. I invited him on the podcast because he came highly recommended by several friends in the military and narrative warfare circles.Longtime fans of the podcast understand that I like to knock my guests out of their comfort zone a little bit, and see what comes out when in unpracticed ground. I did not succeed at this with Kurt. I was outmatched. The man has been doing the talking head thing for a long time, and he was perfectly comfortable steering the conversation to the places he wanted it to go. That was alright with me, it was a good opportunity to learn from someone who has a lot of skill in staying on topic. This conversation was more about a war of political and social messaging - and the consequences thus derived - than it was about on the ground warfare. That's also alright with me. Students of war understand that politics is merely non-kinetic warfare, and also that politics aims the guns. All that said, this was a good conversation, and you have to admire a man who can stick to his principles while keeping a good sense of humor. We laughed a lot along the way, and if you're not familiar with Kurt, you're gonna get familiar with him in just over 3/4 of an hour.
