Pretend Radio is a documentary-style podcast about real people pretending to be someone else. I interview con artists, snake oil salesmen, undercover FBI agents—pretty much anyone living a lie.

This is one of my favorite shows. I investigated frauds and corruption on an FBI Economic Crime squad and I can tell you no one else is out here conducting hard-hitting authentic interviews on the topic like Pretend Radio. This podcast is the real deal! #MustListen
Javier Leiva is a gifted storyteller — not only is "Pretend" well-written and well-reported, but Javier clearly thinks deeply about crafting a story so that it has the most impact on the listener. It helps that he's focusing on some pretty compelling characters to begin with, but "Pretend" stands out thanks to its crisp writing, sound quality, and attention to detail. Highly recommended.
An always interesting and compelling documentary podcast. Well researched and informative, this is the kind of true crime show I favor. Javier Leiva is a fantastic storyteller and seemingly always finds different stories to tell.
