I chat with Puerto Rican literary historian Rafael Ocasio about his latest collection which, like the early 20th century scientific survey conducted by Franz Boas, maps the former Spanish colony through folklore. But this collection is more than just folklore. Reimagined fairytales as well as history also populate this collection as well an emphasis on the hills as a space of resistance and reclamation.
