Award-winning model, businesswoman and philanthropist Caprice joins Rob and details how she went from the worlds sexiest woman to one of the businesses most successful female entrepreneurs. They discuss the power of silence, the importance of having a strong community of friends around you and how to identify your target market for your product or service.
You have to put your ego in your back pocket. You have to always think of a ‘plan B’, that is the smart thing to do. As an entrepreneur you can never be complacent, you have got to keep moving forward, expanding and innovating. Successful entrepreneurs will understand that if you want to be successful, you have got to put the work in continuously.
You have got to identify the target market for your product or service. It is not enough to just have a ‘good idea’, you need to know who is going to buy it. Understand that buyers need to understand who is going to buy into your brand.
It is really important to build a support group and a community of friends. This past year has been a tough time for everyone but it is important to remember that everyone has been in it together. We are all going through the same thing, and we are almost out of it.
Negotiating contracts is an art form. Many people are guilty of stereotyping and it may be hard to pick up credibility purely because of your stereotype. In business, your biggest move is complete silence and restriction. Until you can take out the emotion you have to go silent, and that is your power.
If someone is successful, often people tend to shame that person for discussing their wealth and success. Embrace those who are eager to be successful, it is great to wake up in the morning and have something to aspire to be and do.
Although it is really hard when you have invested so much time and money into something and it is not working, a lot of people tend to put in more to try and make it work. The best play is to get out, take your losses and invest in something that is going to work.
“You’ve got to play to your strengths.”
“I just grabbed an opportunity that I saw and I just went with it.”
“We’re almost there, we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.”
“ We still live in a man’s world.”
“Instead of battling back or yelling, go silent.”
