Another Monday, another New Flesh Podcast! This week, Brett and Joe break down the latest in Ridley Scott's "Alien" franchise before Joe examines his white privilege and pontificates on Norman Reedus' hair. Before jumping into "Tales of Halloween," Joe reflects on the best of horror anthologies as he references benchmarks of the genre like "Creepshow," "The Twilight Zone," and the more recent "VHS" films.
No regular New Flesh podcast this week — Joe had a seriously rough week. He talks about it here. It's personal and not fun and things get sad. We apologize. But it is horrifying, so it sort of counts. Joe details his past few days and explains why there's no real episode. Please donate to Joe's GoFundMe and help his cat, Cats Domino!
Thanks for checking out the inaugural episode of The New Flesh, a horror movie podcast from Business Insider's Brett Arnold & Joe Avella. This week's show starts with Brett and Joe discussing the possibility of another "A Nightmare on Elm Street" remake, crossing their fingers for the fate of "Ash vs. Evil Dead," and trolling director "Friday the 13th" remake director Marcus Nispel. The main course is a full-length treatise on Eli Roth's jungle-cannibal film "The Green Inferno," which is in theaters now. Long Live The New Flesh!
The New Flesh returns to hell ... on earth! If you missed the live-streamed audio commentary, no worries, as Brett and Joe are back in regular pod-form with the third entry in the HELLRAISER franchise, 1992's HELL ON EARTH. Esteemed colleague Charles Bramesco (Uproxx, Vanity Fair)returns to talk even more about his love for the series. But before that, Brett, Joe and Charles reflect on THE PEOPLE VS. OJ SIMPSON, 10 CLOVERFIELD LANE, and some of the other 900 movies Brett watched this week. Be sure to stick around to the end for Brett and Charles' brief discussion of Sacha Baron Cohens' THE BROTHERS GRIMSBY.
Merry Christmas, or whatever! We know we’re early, but with the release of KRAMPUS this past weekend, it’s as good a time as any to start the Holiday Horror conversation. Before diving into the humble beginnings of the Christmas-set slasher, Brett and Joe remember the late Robert Loggia, discuss the latest news on the FRIDAY THE 13TH franchise as well as Universal’s latest attempt to cash-in on their classic monster properties. Brett briefly discusses Tarantino’s THE HATEFUL EIGHT and Spike Lee’s CHI-RAQ before Joe lays Marvel to rest and the conversation shifts to BLACK CHRISTMAS, CHRISTMAS EVIL, SILENT NIGHT DEADLY NIGHT, and finally, KRAMPUS. ’Tis the season … almost.

I finally watched the John Travolta starring John Gotti biopic GOTTI. Boy oh boy it is something else. Produced by MoviePass, it was critically panned and considered one of the worst films of the year. So I sat down and shared my thoughts in real time. The film is currently on Amazon Prime. this is meant to be a companion piece while watching the film, but I talk a lot so maybe not? Enjoy! Joe
On this week's New Flesh, Charles Bramesco joins to talk about HELLRAISER: JUDGMENT, which you definitely should or shouldn't watch, depending on who you ask.
