Remember that you can always get in touch with us on our Facebook page or on Twitter.SquidgyFidget starts a conversation about the Switch not having a gamer score which leads us to a discussion on Xbox Live and the Playstation Network. Then B drops a knowledge bomb about Nintendo bringing a online play to the Switch very soon.I talk about the difficulty of being the first with some new technology, the death of the Saturn and Dreamcast; and B brings to our attention the fact that the consoles which win the wars are the ones which concede on certain aspects of their design and hardware for the mainstream, which takes us to a discussion on SegaNet.I also link what happened in the video games crash of the 80s to what happened recently with Playerunknown’s Battleground, and how Nintendo fixed gaming back then by adding (what was effectively) a DRM chip to each cartridge for the NES.Full show notes can be found here: https://www.wafflingtaylors.rocks/2017/12/28/switch-please-part-3/The Waffling Taylors is a proud member of Jay and Jay Media. Remember that you can always get in touch with us on our Facebook page or on Twitter. The first (official) episode of the Waffling Taylors podcast is here!A couple of things that you need to know going in:We have the microphone! We have a Blue Yeti microphone and what's better is that I brought it with me this time. So the audio recording should be a much higher quality.Colds aboundI've done what I can to remove the few coughs and sniffles that ended up in the recording, but a few are still present. I'm sorry if the sound of Squidgey-Fidget sniffling a few times weirds you out.LanguageWhilst we don't swear on the podcast, we do use the words `boobs` and `sex`. These are in the context of defining actions or features of both Jurassic Park Tresspasser and The Sims.As such, we recommend that you give this episode a listen without the presence of little ones (or folks who might be offended by the uses of those words). Also, so does Squidgey! In his first podcast appearance since his recent super secret project, Squidgey gives us the run down of what he's been playing recently, drops some knowledge on the Resident Evil series, discusses Tekken 2, and we touch on the recent (unfortunate) news of UK independent retailer Grainger Games closing up shop (literally).Full show notes can be found here: https://www.wafflingtaylors.rocks/2018/04/13/sega-wrist/The Waffling Taylors is a proud member of Jay and Jay Media. Remember that you can always get in touch with us on our Facebook page or on Twitter.A couple of things that you need to know going in:One instance of “Hey Siri!” and one “Alexa”There’s one instance of someone saying “Hey Siri!”, so take care if you’re an iOS user or have Apple products laying about take care. There’s also one instance of an “Alexa!” so Echo owners will need headphones. There are a few J-BombsWe didn’t want to censor ourselves – although we always make a point of keeping any swears out of the podcast. But I wanted to give you a heads up that there is, at least, one J-Bomb in this episode. If these cause issues, then I’ll make a point of editing them out in the future. But please listen responsibly. Full show notes can be found here: https://www.wafflingtaylors.rocks/2017/12/26/switch-please-part-1/The Waffling Taylors is a proud member of Jay and Jay Media. Remember that you can always get in touch with us on our Facebook page or on Twitter. This is the beta episode of a podcast we’re throwing together called “The Waffling Taylors Podcast”.A couple of things that you need to know going in:I forgot to bring the microphoneWe ended up having to use my laptop’s built in mic for this one, as such it sounds a bit weird I’ve cleaned up the audio as well as I can, but there are a few points were Chief Problem and I talk over each other. There are a few loud pointsWe had a few laughs making this podcast, as such we have a few laughs. Chief Problem and I were closer to the microphone than Djstump was, so you’ll hear us laughing louder than him.Chief ProblemChief Problem (or “Chief” as he became known) is a friend of ours and honorary waffler. He joined us for the beta and is willing to join us again.Full show notes can be found here: https://www.wafflingtaylors.rocks/2017/11/10/56-games-in-63-minutes/The Waffling Taylors is a proud member of Jay and Jay Media. Remember that you can always get in touch with us on our Facebook page or on Twitter. In this episode: Chief decides to ask us what we've been playing recently, and the list might shock you. And not just because I mention some stuff that I'd talked about on an episode we'd recorded earlier, but isn't released yet. Squidgey talks about how he unlocked an extremely drop for one of his characters on Diabolo 3... completely by accident (check the full show notes for a picture of his character). GaProgMan talks us through another of his AAA game ideas, this time it's the RPG character creation wizard as a game. This is actually part two of a three part series, make sure to go back to part one (from last week), and to come back when part three drops (next week)Full show notes can be found here: https://www.wafflingtaylors.rocks/2018/06/15/time-cast-pod-machine-part-2/The Waffling Taylors is a proud member of Jay and Jay Media. Remember that you can always get in touch with us on our Facebook page or on Twitter. This episode features an exclusive interview with Stephen Smith, who is a really chill dude. We talk a little about the history of the events he has organised; the reaction from folks who attend; and even blind dates. The audio in the interview portion is a little rough, so bear that in mind. I've done what I can to fix the audio, but that's included making it sound a little flat.Full show notes can be found here: https://www.wafflingtaylors.rocks/2018/02/11/interview-this/The Waffling Taylors is a proud member of Jay and Jay Media. Remember that you can always get in touch with us on our Facebook page or on Twitter. The B is back (it's almost like we record several of these on the same day). But this time, Squidgey wanted to go into a lot of detail around the Resident Evil 2 board game. He was a very early backer of it on KickStarter, and had to wait over a year for it to finally materialise - but, even now, he's super excited about the game. He received his copy (and the second copy, and the expansion packs, and the two copies of the KickStarter exclusives) before the festive period, so he's had a fair bit of experience of playing it.We do mention a potential canon spoiler for the Resident Evil 2 Remake. We'd recorded the episode weeks before the remake was due outwe've also done some Resy 2 Remake specific episodes since then, too - check the full show notes for linksas such we didn't know whether what B was about to drop was an actual spoiler or not. Turns out that it's not, but it's useful to be aware of.All this and more in episode 34 of the Waffling Taylors podcast: Damn Squidge!Full show notes, links to related stuff, and music credits can be found here: https://www.wafflingtaylors.rocks/2019/02/15/damn-squidge/The Waffling Taylors is a proud member of Jay and Jay Media. Remember that you can always get in touch with us on our Facebook page or on Twitter.Chief is back for the third time in a row - it's almost like we record these in batches, or something. We talk about our dream Mini consoles, use metaphors that don't really work, discuss the pitfalls of consoles at launch (and why you should never do that), and a little on DRM and why it's both pointless (because it ALWAYS harms legit consumers) and actually quite good (content creators have to protect their stuff somehow). All this and more, in episode 67 of The Waffling Taylors Podcast: Agent QTE!Make sure that you check out the full show notes, links to related stuff, music credits, and a full size version of the art work we've had done, check out: https://wafflingtaylors.rocks/2020/01/31/agent-qte/The Waffling Taylors is a proud member of Jay and Jay Media.
