Casey Elsass is the founder of Bushwick Kitchen and maker of Bees Knees Spicy Honey, Trees Knees Spicy Syrup and Weak Knees Gochujang Sriracha. His culinary journey started at the age of six, when he climbed up on the kitchen counter to pour a little of everything from the spice cabinet into a Scooby-Doo cup of warm water, and he’s been playing with his food ever since. Bushwick Kitchen, formerly MixedMade, started as a 30 day experiment to build a business from scratch. In the first year, with just one product, the company grossed over $170,000 in revenue. By its second birthday in February 2016, Bushwick Kitchen had surpassed half a million in revenue and grew wholesale reach to over 600 retail locations nationwide. Casey's first cookbook, Maple Syrup, was published by Short Stack Editions in February and Bushwick Kitchen released Trees Knees Mountain Maple and Trees Knees Cinnamon Maple in celebration. Four more products are slated for 2016 release.
