The Central Park 5 aka the Exonerated 5, are symbols of both pain and redemption. The system rushed to convict them but years later new evidence uncovered their innocence and led to a multi-million dollar settlement that left them comfortable and empowered. And then Ava Duvernay’s Netflix film about them When They See Us  gave their story new oxygen.
