Today, we add voice capabilities to Mass Appeal. Meaning, there’s a podcast now (pending approval by Apple Podcasts, but I think you can listen right on Substack.)
I like podcasts, in general, but over the past year they were a real lifeline for me. And so many good ones came out. Lately, I’ve been digging Hell & High Water, The Weeds, The Ezra Klein Show, The Underworld Podcast, and of course still Penn’s Sunday School. These are all great podcasts, but I noticed they all had a glaring lack of being primarily focused on profitable pornographic advertising strategies for performers. Seeing a void in the market, I took a chance.
I even added intro music to the podcast, so it’s pretty professional. The only thing it really needs now is a legion of dedicated listeners to shoot it to the #1 spot on the charts. You and me makes 2, my mom will probably listen also, so we’re already most of the way there.
The podcasts will likely follow a similar topic trajectory to the written articles here (which will continue). For me, a podcast medium is a way to go super deep into ideas and genuinely get a lot more of them out faster. Writing takes a long time to do, even when I skip editing. I can talk pretty effectively. I produce podcasts pretty much like I’m talking on the phone to someone who’s interested in what I am talking about but needing things to be explained; with the benefit that, with it being a podcast, no one can interrupt my train (wreck) of thought. If you have questions about things, drop them in the comments, and those questions will probably form the inspiration for episodes in the immediate future.
I’m also totally down to have guests on this podcast. So if you want to come on and discuss Mass Appeal (or anything else porn, let me know). I’m going to invite random people from porn on that I’d like to interview or who I think might have useful things to say relative to the Mass Appeal ecosystem.
In this first episode, I basically cover Mass Appeal - The Blueprint - but there are some genuinely new things in the podcast that are pretty cool as well, which I’ve noted to turn into articles here.
The point of the podcast is to aid people who don’t want to read so much. So I’ll shut up for now.
