2017 In Review & Looking Ahead

Holy cow. Just 7 months ago, Podchaser didn’t even exist. What started as a Reddit post has transformed into a tool by and for the podcasting community. We have a lot of exciting news to come, features to build, and work to do in 2018.

None of our progress or success would be possible without all of our users and supporters. It is almost trite at this point, but it’s true that the podcasting community is an overwhelmingly positive and enthusiastic one. Here are a few incredible people and organizations that have helped along the way:

Looking Ahead to 2018

2018 will be the year of Podchaser. Here’s what on the roadmap based on advice and direction from our closest podcast partners.

Shareable Lists — Create your own custom list of podcast episodes or shows, then easily share your list online through your social channels or with a direct link. Word-of-mouth advertising for your podcast will never be easier than through Podchaser’s shareable lists.

People Search — Search Podchaser for personalities in the podcasting world. Find your favorite people and discover details on their involvement in podcast shows and episodes.

Podcaster Tools — More data and better control of your podcast, profile, and/or network page.

Player IntegrationGo straight from Podchaser to your favorite podcast player with a single click. Listen to your newly discovered podcast and then come back to rate and review on Podchaser.

Enhanced Social FeaturesClip, snip, and send moments from podcast episodes. Discuss episodes directly on Podchaser. Respond to listener reviews.

RecommendationsPersonalized recommendations for you based on listening habits and what’s trending.

Site Updates

You’ve hopefully noticed some small tweaks recently. The search text input no longer lags, the homepage no longer scrolls to the bottom, the site isn’t randomly down nearly as much, etc. We work daily to make the site more stable and usable.

Here are a couple more baby steps toward the big promises we’re making for 2018. If you can’t find a show on Podchaser, add the feed for the show directly from the navigation menu and watch it appear almost instantly.

Share an episode on Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Reddit, or copy the episode’s link straight to your clipboard.
