Amanda J. Fitzwater is an author of science fiction and speculative fiction. Their work, self-described as "genderpunk," focuses on feminist and queer themes.
Fitzwater has a background in radio, and also contributes narration to audio dramas and podcasts, including for the Escape Artists universe.
Fitzwater's work has appeared in science fiction and fantasy magazines. Their first book, the collection, "The Voyages of Cinrak the Dapper," was published in 2020. Their first novel, "No Man's Land," was also published in 2020.
Fitzwater is a Sir Julius Vogel Award winner, and a graduate of the Clarion SFF Writers Workshop. In 2021, they were the Artist in Residence at The Christchurch Arts Centre.
