Alfred Ernest Jean III is a writer, animator, and producer. He is known for his work on The Simpsons.Jean began his writing career in the 1980s with his writing partner Mike Reiss. They worked as writers and producers on television shows such as "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson," "ALF," and "It's Garry Shandling's Show" before becoming the first members of the original writing team for "The Simpsons" in 1989.Jean and Reiss left "The Simpsons" to create "The Critic" for ABC. Then they created and executive-produced "Teen Angel," which was canceled, and Jean returned to "The Simpsons" in its tenth season.
