Alex Mayyasi is a journalist and editor. Currently, he is the editor of Gastro Obscura. Previously, Mayyasi was a writer and editor at Priceonomics, where he covered business, economics, and culture. Mayyasi's first book, co-authored with Egyptian democracy activist Ahmed Salah and titled "You Are Under Arrest For Masterminding the Egyptian Revolution," was published in 2016.
