Allen Benjamin Downey (born May 11, 1967) is an American computer scientist and author who serves as Principal Data Scientist at PyMC Labs. He is a former Professor of Computer Science at the Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering, where he taught courses in software engineering, data science, and computational modeling. Downey is widely known for his open-access textbooks, including *Think Python*, *Think Stats*, and *Think Bayes*, which have been influential in computer science and data science education.
