Amanda Hess is a journalist. She currently writes for The New York Times. Previous to the Times, Hess was an internet columnist for Slate magazine, an editor at GOOD magazine, and an arts and nightlife columnist at the Washington City Paper. She has also written for ESPN the Magazine, Wired and Pacific Standard. Hess was raised in Wisconsin, Nevada, Washington and Arizona.
