Andrew Rice is a journalist. Currently, he is Contributing Editor at New York Magazine. His areas of interest include dictatorship, democracy, New York real estate, African politics, law and justice, immigration, Congress, witchcraft, urban planning, religion, corruption, baseball, and war.Rice's first book, "The Teeth May Smile but the Heart Does Not Forget," was published in 2009. His second book, "The Year That Broke America," was published in 2022.Rice began his career at newspapers in Philadelphia and Washington, before he joined the reporting staff of the weekly New York Observer, where he was working during the year 2000. Between 2002 and 2004, Andrew lived in Uganda as a fellow of the Institute of Current World Affairs, an American nonprofit foundation.
