Andy Mannix is an investigative reporter, currently reporting on the courts, law enforcement, prisons, and Minneapolis City Hall for the Star Tribune. He also teaches journalism at the University of Minnesota.In 2020, Mannix was part of the team of reporters that covered the killing of George Floyd and aftermath, leading to the Star Tribune winning the George Polk Award and Pulitzer Prize.Prior to joining the Star Tribune, Mannix wrote about a variety of topics, such as crime, recreational marijuana and politics, for publications including The Seattle Times, MinnPost, City Pages and The Minnesota Daily.Mannix received his B.A. from the University of Minnesota and his M.A. in data-driven journalism from University of California Berkeley.
