Ann Marie Awad was raised in Buffalo, NY. She attended SUNY Buffalo and got her Master’s degree in Journalism at CUNY. She interned at WHYY in Philadelphia, then worked for WRKF in Baton Rouge, LA. Then, she became the education reporter for KUNC in Greely, CO. She joined Colorado Public Radio in 2017.
