Anna Maria Tremonti is a journalist. She is known for her work for CBC Radio and Television. Tremonti was a senior reporter for The National, where she won two Gemini Awards, and a host of The Fifth Estate, where she won a Gracie Award. She hosted CBC Radio One's morning news and current affairs program "The Current". Tremonti was a radio journalist in New Glasgow, NS and in Toronto before joining the CBC. For the CBC, she reported worked in Fredericton, Halifax, Edmonton, Ottawa and Toronto, as a correspondent in Europe, and as the chief correspondent in the Middle East. Tremonti was born in Windsor, ON. She received her degree from the University of Windsor, where she began her journalism career at the student newspaper, The Lance, and the university's radio station, CJAM.
