Dr. Anna Zeide is a historian and author whose work focuses on food, consumerism, and food systems. Currently, she is an Associate Professor of History at Virginia Tech, where she is also the founding director of their Food Studies Program. She was previously at Oklahoma State University.
Zeide's work has been appeared featured in the Review of Agricultural, Food and Environmental Studies, Stillwater News-Press, and The O'Colly. Her work about botulism has appeared in the Saturday Evening Post and Smithsonian. Her first book, "Canned: The Rise and Fall of Consumer Confidence in the American Food Industry," was published in 2019. Her second book, "US History in 15 Foods," was published in 2023.
