Dr. Anne Davis Basting is a geronotologist, writer, artist, and advocate. Her work centers around aging, memory, and the uses of theater, storytelling, and other arts in eldercare. Currently, she is Professor of English at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. She is also founder of the non-profit TimeSlips Creative Storytelling, which trains and supports caregivers.Basting's work has appeared in the Wall Street Journal and Psychology Today, as well as in scholarly journals. She has appeared on television, radio, and TED Talks. Her first book, "Forget Memory: Creating Better Lives for People with Dementia," was published in 2009. Her second book, "reative Care: A Revolutionary Approach to Dementia and Elder Care," was published in 2020.Basting received her B.A. in English from The Colorado College, her M.A. in Theatre from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and her Ph.D. in Theatre Studies from the University of Minnesota.
