Anthony Mackie is an American actor best known for his role as Sam Wilson, also known as the Falcon and later Captain America, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing in films such as Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Avengers: Endgame (2019), and the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021). A Juilliard-trained performer, Mackie was in 8 Mile (2002) and The Hurt Locker (2008), which won the Academy Award for Best Picture. His diverse filmography includes roles in Million Dollar Baby (2004), The Adjustment Bureau (2011), and Detroit (2017). Mackie has also worked extensively in theater and television, and in 2021 he was announced as the lead in Captain America: Brave New World (2025).
