Becks Heyhoe-Khalil is the Director of United to End Homelessness, a community-wide initiative from Orange County United Way that was launched in 2018 through convening business, philanthropic and faith based leaders – all committed to ending homelessness in the Orange County community. The work is grounded in bringing the recommendations of the 2017 UC Irvine study “Homelessness in Orange County: The Costs to Our Community” to life.
Heyhoe-Khalil was a member of the Governing Board of the Continuum of Care for Orange County, CA, and was named a 2024 OC Visionary by the Los Angeles Times and received the “Woman of Distinction” Award in March 2022 from Senator Tom Umberg for her important and impactful work to end homelessness in Orange County. In 2019, she was also named as one of the 100 Most Influential people in Orange County due to the success of United to End Homelessness’ WelcomeHomeOC landlord incentive program. She and other leaders took on the challenge of raising half a million dollars to expand the WelcomeHomeOC program to house 30 federal voucher holders in 30 days, and succeeded.
