Branka Bogdan is a historian and scholar specializing in gender, reproductive politics, and socialist societies in Eastern Europe. She is the author of The New Yugoslav Woman: Reproductive Regulation in Socialist Yugoslavia, published by Indiana University Press in 2025. The book explores state policies on reproduction, family planning, and women’s labor in Yugoslavia, analyzing how these measures shaped gender roles and social norms. Bogdan has published research on social history, feminism, and health policy in socialist contexts. Her current work continues to investigate intersections of gender, state policy, and social transformation in 20th century Eastern Europe.
