Bruce Arena is an American soccer coach and former player, widely regarded as one of the most successful and influential figures in U.S. soccer history. He served as head coach of the U.S. Men’s National Team during two separate tenures, leading the team to the quarterfinals of the 2002 FIFA World Cup—their best finish in the modern era. Arena also coached Major League Soccer teams including D.C. United, LA Galaxy, and New England Revolution, winning multiple MLS Cups and Coach of the Year honors. Prior to his professional coaching career, he led the University of Virginia to five NCAA championships.
