Bryan Teoh is a composer, instrumentalist, and new media artist working out of Brooklyn NY. His work often explores the relationship between acoustic/synthetic soundscapes, composition/improvisation, and popular/academic music utilizing custom software as well as instrumental work on the viola da gamba, cello, guitar, and piano. His work has been featured at the New England Arts and Culture Festival, Jordan Hall, the Out of Sequence Electronic Art Events, and X in DC multimedia art and design festival. His compositions have been used various contexts including film, video games, modern dance, art installations, theater, and documentaries. Past projects include the Sims 2, The Playboy Mansion Expansion Pack, and an animated series for the 2010 World Cup.In recent years he has fostered an interest in software design for live video processing and peformance allowing him to creating visual tapestries analagous to improvising music on an instrument. He has lectured on the topic at Lawrence University, as well as served as consultant to staff at Harvestworks, and the AV crew at the 2007 One Million Forgotten Moments theater festival.
