Carrie McGath is a poet and an author. She earned her PhD from the University of Illinois at Chicago where she studied poetry in The Program for Writers. She also teaches composition and creative writing at UIC and she is an adjunct at Lewis University. In the Spring of 2021, Carrie received the Paul Carroll Award “for an outstanding advanced PhD student.” The award “considers the totality of scholarship, writing, and service to the program.” In 2019, she won the AWP Intro Project Award in poetry for her poem, “Dear Anhedonia” that was then published in the Tahoma Literary Review.
