Charlotte Rosen is a historian, writer, and editor based in Chicago. She specializes in the modern United States, especially the history of prisons, prisoner litigation, and prisoner resistance in the late-twentieth century. She earned her PhD in History from Northwestern University in 2023. She has published in n+1, Spectre, The Nation, The Cleveland Review of Books, Public Books, and Belt Magazine. Her scholarship has appeared in The Journal of Policy History and The Journal of Urban History.
