Dr Uller is a developmental cognitive scientist. Her main interests lie at the interface between early cognition and language. She is interested in infants' and young children's intuitive knowledge about the physical and social worlds. Claudia is therefore interested in how preverbal babies see the world. One of the most fascinating questions to puzzle students of the mind is how the human mind is wired to acquire so much information, so quickly, within the first two years. In addition Claudia is interested in how non-linguistic animals think and develop specialised mechanisms to survive. For the past 20 years, developmental scientists have refined methodologies to assess knowledge both in preverbal babies and non-linguistic animals.
